Profile picture can be no more that 400x400 pixels and no more than 9.5 meg is size...
Avatar is something like 150x150 and no more than 9.5 meg.

Try puting the picture in some sort of graphics program (Photoshop, maybe even Paint) and resize it...

Or if you want, I will PM you my email address, send it to there and I can resize it for you and send it back.
