Ok, two questions...both regarding 'tape'

I am doing my first track day on Monday. One of the guys I am going with claims we have to us duct tape over our lights. I thought they had some other kind of tape at the track for us to use. I just don't like the idea of duct tape because it always leaves that sticky residue. What do you folks recommend for taping up your lights?

Also, the trackday I am going to (Buttonwillow in CA) has a guy that will do video for $50. But I have no clue of the quality...obviously will ask him, but wondering if any of you have experience with people that film track days for you. Will I really be able to tell how I am doing with my lines, form, etc.?
