I haven't run any times, but have drag raced a bunch. I think launching depends on the type of bike you have. I have a 600 and when I am taking off, I lean completely forward with my face over the speedo, both feet on ground, then run the rpms up to about 7-8k (peak power is at around 12k) and hold the clutch in just before the point of engage. Then when it's time to hit it, I let the clutch out a little for a split second to get the wheels turning, then dump the clutch with wide oepn throttle in 1st. Now, I think, is the trickiest part of maximizing your run....getting into full tuck, watching for peak rpms, and getting into 2nd gear just before peak with wide open throttle following. You have all of 2-3 seconds do all of this.

Litre bikes are much different than this, but this works for what I have and I don't think I can get the bike any faster without mods.

I can keep the wheelies down to pop can size by leaning all the way forward and getting into full tuck. I think a softer shock setting in the back also helps keep the front down. I am guessing to run in the 11's.
