Well me and some friends went out last night to a nice, deserted road and marked the lines for a quarter mile. I reset the gas odemeter on my bike and went 400 meters which is basically a 1/4 mile...give or take about 15~ meters because of the innacturate way of measurement, but it works

.
I had my friends stay at the the end with the van and stop watch and i went to the starting line. They flashed highbeams 3 times and on the third flash they start the stopwatch. So i nailed it and came out wiiithhhhhhb......14.2! I figure since real tracks dont put the reaction time into the quatermile time that my time is closer to 13.9 or 14 flat, which is ok. I did 4 passes and my first pass was still fasted. Hit neutral on one pass which sucked and the bike was heating up fast even though it was only like 10 celcius out. I think i can get atleast .5 lower with a better launch.
Question on launching, obviously with this bike i dont have to worry very much about wheelies, but when i launch, should i rev the engine up into the power band, so around 8-9k, and then quickly but fluently let out the clutch? I think thats how you do it but im not sure.....Anyways the way i was doing it last night i only revved it to aobut 4k and i felt the lauches were a little slow.
Now call me a squid
EDIT: HOLY SHIT....i just got back from practicing launching, and revving it into the powerband is obviously the way to go. I revved it up to 10k and let the clutch out smoothly while pinning the throttle and using the clutch to keep my revs at about 10k. And what did i do? I FUCKIN WHEELIED...atleast 1 foot maybe 2 feet off the ground, but it was definatly off...my first wheelie and im proud. I was kinda surprised afterwards because i reacted fairly good when it came up, i just calmly pulled in the clutch and shut the throttle....i was grinning for like 20min. I went straight to a friends house and told him what i did
