Default best used 600 sportbike or anything else?

I remember one of the bike mags having a best used list, but i never got around reading it all. im interested in ditching my 91 FZR for something a newer but still not as radical as the new stuff. Something bout my bike doesnt instill a mechanical confidence. so what did the article say? thanks

The CBR600's seem to be very reliable and easy to come by.

yeah, the Honda CBR series is the best selling of all time, so there are plenty of used ones as well. should be very reliable if it was maintained decently.

Problem with hondas is everyone is so damn religious about them, they won't sell them for less than twice what they're worth. Nothing against the F4, but you can find a 98-02 ZX6R for probably a thousand less and end up with an equally good, if not slightly better, motorcycle. I'd rate the 98-02 zx6r as the best value in the used 600 class, followed by the 97+ YZF600R, followed by the F4.

those YZF600Rs are nice. CBR600F2 and F3 are nice too.

TRUE, I second that. My zx6R keeps up with any F4 on or off the track, and was only 3500 two years ago. all of the 600's are good, but the best deal is the ZX6R. The magazines give it crap reviews too, which always hurts the re-sale (good for you)

f4i's are great also for used, but maybe not the best first bike. Fuel injected, great suspension, best "street" comfort for a SS, yet keeps up with an R6 of the same year on the track. 14k redline and like 100 hp to the wheel, quite a hard combo to pass up.

Interested in mine? It's mint with 6k miles, email me if interested, or with any questions about buying a honda, which I agree are bulletproof.

The Yamaha YZF 600R is a nice bike to get. Maybe one that is a
year or two old. Fully adjustable suspension, wide fairing, good
wind protection and outstanding MPG.

the zx6r is an awesome used bike and the cheapest of the 4 usually. I bought mine for about $1500 less than a f4 of the same year and my bike only had 2400 miles on it. I have nothing but good things to say about my bike.

nope actually known for strong reliable engines. no big problems that are common that I know of and have researched them quite a bit. go over to zx6r.com and you can check that out for some more info too. I seriously wouldn't really worry about reliability on any bike with under 25k miles, under 10 years old that was maintained decently
